About Zulfiqur Rahman

Md.Zulfiqur Rahman (Likhon) (1976-). Son of Md. Abdul Hai Mia and Jahanara Begum. He is Instructor (Non-tech) of Polytechnic Institute under the technical and madrasa education department of the Education ministry of Bangladesh government. He obtained Honours and Master degree in Sociology Department from Chittagong University. In his honours period had to read environmental sociology. This course insisted him to work on climate issues. During that time his University fell into shut down for an indefinite time because of a gun battle between two political student wings. In this situation he had to stay home for about one year. That vacation period he not only passed into gossiping and wanderings. It had to work out in his head how to do this about climate change to reduce use of polythene on a personal level. Because of this,he thought as school students can be aware of the harmfulness of Polythene then it will be possible to be aware of their parents. In this context he shared his thoughts to some friends and the teachers of Rowshanbag High School and Rowshanbag Primary School. After their consent on it he started class campaign accompanied by his friends about the harmfulness of polythene. Through this activity he proposed among his friends to build a volunteer organization. While all agreed to build it then he proposed the name of the organization "Social Projection Committee ". This organizational members started to give donations and subscriptions to help the treatment of poor people, respond to the disaster affected people as well as give money among the poor students to buy books and educational materials. In 2007 it got registration from the Social Welfare Department under the minister of Social Welfare of Bangladesh government and started the journey structurally. Very recently in June,2024 it had gotten a certificate from the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) to operate financial activities.

Zulfiqur Rahman is involved in Tracer Study and different social research as a researcher. Moreover he is engaged in different types of social activities from his College life. He is Rover Scout Leader and Lifetime member of Red crescent Society, Rangpur district unit, Bangladesh.
